Exercise for Time Limited People
Many people work long hours to further their career/business. Unfortunately, their Health & Fitness suffers, if it’s a low priority, and they tend to experience weight gain and breathlessness . They may also notice a decline in task focus after lunch- almost dropping off at their desks- they then ‘fuel’ themselves with the inevitable coffee and a ‘sticky’ as they try to regain concentration. Then there’s the train/car commute home sat in a seat where they adapt their worst posture. Once home, they slump in front of the TV before dinner, both mentally and physically drained. No doubt you’ve read the media horror stories about the effects of obesity due lack of exercise causing: High Blood Pressure, Cardiac Disease, Diabetes, etc. Fortunately this situation can be reversed by a gradual and progressive exercise regime that meets individuals at their current fitness state of fitness. Without requiring large amounts of gym time and can be done at home. Although some commitment is required.
Working hard & smart seems obvious. Indeed studies have proven time invested in exercise increases personal productivity. For example, if someone who worked a 10 hr day allocated 30 minutes to perform targeted exercise. Their output would increase both in volume and quality over the same time period. Especially for tasks requiring clarity of thought and decision making. Combine this with effective nutritional coaching strategies. The same individual would gain the benefits of exercise and have energy to spare for life outside of work.
Any exercise programme can be challenging for people who are time poor and haven’t immediate access to a gym or equipment. So minimal equipment/bodyweight exercises such as Pilates would be ideal. Especially if there’s only limited space available. Either at your workplace, at home, or at a location abroad where time zones present a challenge.
But how is that possible without booking a Personal Trainer at a variety of locations in a timeframe that suits your schedule?
This is where Online Training comes in. Providing you have access to a computer, IPad/phone, etc, you can train anywhere in the World, regardless of time zones. I’ve coached clients in: Australia, the USA and throughout Europe. Since the COVID lockdowns I’ve used Zoom to teach the Pilates method to get my clients to high levels of fitness. Either through 1-2-1 or small group sessions. With many starting from a low fitness baseline. This is time and cost efficient as you’ve nil gym fees and you can exercise at your current location, using bodyweight exercises and a bare minimum of a carpet. I’ve been teaching Pilates for 18 years+ to clients of all ages and abilities.
